Norma Jean have been on the forefront of the underground hardcore scene almost since their inception in 2001. They’ve certainly earned their credentials, with an extensive touring schedule, strong relationships in the underground community, and one of the loudest, heaviest sounds in music today. Despite a number of lineup changes, they’ve been able to stay consistent throughout the years, and even scored a Grammy nomination for best packaging with their second album, O God, the Aftermath.
 
Bassist Jake Shultz has been with the band since 2003, and has appeared on their last two albums. He plays a First Act Delgada bass.
