Debbie Googe

Anglo-Irish alternative rock legends My Bloody Valentine have reunited their original lineup for a series of shows in Europe and the US. The band was formed in Dublin in 1985 by guitarist Kevin Shields and drummer Colm O’Ciosoig, who later moved to London and recruited bassist Debbie Googe and singer Belinda Butcher. The band released a number of EPs and singles before spending two years recording their critically acclaimed album Loveless in 1991. The band drifted apart shortly thereafter, but they were pioneers in the alternative scene with their complex, effects-heavy instrumentation and haunting, ethereal vocals. In the years after their breakup, Googe formed the band Snowpony, which was viewed by many as an indie supergroup of sorts, and worked as a cab driver in London between gigs.
