For more than 30 years, Aerosmith has been rocking the universe with huge hits, extensive touring, and explosive live shows. They've had gold, platinum, and multi-platinum records and were recently were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Formed in 1970 by Steven Tyler (vocals), Joe Perry (guitar), and Tom Hamilton (bass), they quickly added Brad Whitford (guitar) and Joey Kramer (drums). The band started out by sharing an apartment in Boston and playing for free in front of the Boston University student union.

Their first album, Aerosmith, was released in 1973. Over the next six years, they toured constantly and served up several hits: "Dream On," "Sweet Emotion," "Walk This Way," and "Back in the Saddle."

In the early 80s, Perry and Whitford took a rest from Aerosmith and worked on their own projects. In 1984, the band reunited and hit the road with new material for the "Back in the Saddle" tour.

In 1985, the band paired with Run-DMC for a rap version of "Walk This Way," and continued to rule the charts through the late '80s with "Dude Looks Like a Lady" and "Angel."

In 1990, the band cranked out more hits: "Janie's Got a Gun", "Livin' On the Edge," "Cryin'", and "Crazy." In 1998, they appeared on the Armaggedon movie soundtrack with "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing."

Aerosmith continues to release fresh material and put on incredible live shows for their legions of fans. If the last few decades are any indication, Aerosmith is in no danger of slowing down.
