Brad Rice plays guitar in the latest incarnation of Son Volt. The band was formed by Jay Farrar after the breakup of influential alt-country act Uncle Tupelo, which saw Farrar and cohort Jeff Tweedy parting ways. Son Volt’s music emphasizes tradition and story, infusing the country sound with raw guitar energy. Brad Rice has played with The Backsliders (country-rock) as well as Ryan Adams, and contributes his genuine, down and dirty guitar vibes to the group’s Americana sound.
