Bay Area thrash gets an update with Saviours, a four-piece metal act from Oakland led by the raspy growl and neck-breaking riffs of singer/guitarist Austin Barber. The fiery, ferocious sound that made them a live sensation is captured in its glory on their latest release, Into Abbadon. Recorded in less than two weeks, the band’s sophomore effort is packed to the gills with occult-inspired lyrics and doom-infused thrash in the vein of fellow metal heads High on Fire. To date, the band has released two EPs and two LPs to critical acclaim, and continues its quest for world domination through touring.
